Shwedagon Pagoda in the evening

It has been a year since Bruce visited Yangon, Myanmar.  Since then, many things have changed, hopefully for the better.  Bruce in particular remembered the evening lights at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the key landmark in Yangon.

The height of the pagoda is said to be 99 metres.

There was a lift at the botton of the hill to take one up to the pagoda.

It was a late Sunday afternoon and the pagoda was crowded with Myanmar citizens.

When dusk arived, the lights came up and the pagoda was beautifully lit:

Here's wishing for better things to come for this country.....
