Shwedagon Pagoda in the evening

It has been a year since Bruce visited Yangon, Myanmar.  Since then, many things have changed, hopefully for the better.  Bruce in particular remembered the evening lights at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the key landmark in Yangon.

The height of the pagoda is said to be 99 metres.

There was a lift at the botton of the hill to take one up to the pagoda.

It was a late Sunday afternoon and the pagoda was crowded with Myanmar citizens.

Leaving footprints in Penang

Bruce found himself wandering in Penang, Malaysia.

One of the obligatory stop was the Kok Lok Shi, the famous temple located on top of a hill.  A steep climb even for an elephant.

Bruce only managed 2 stories of the Pagoda

He had an easier time accessing Penang Hill with modern technology

Chao Anouvong Park, Vientiane, Laos

Chao Anouvong Park

Chao Anouvong Park

After being away for a year, Bruce returned to Laos in Aug 2011.  The riverside has become beautiful due to the opening of Chao Anouvong Park in 2010. The park was to commeorate the 450th Anniversary celebration of Vientiane.

It was good to be back.  And residents are enjoying the park, like paying sepak takraw.

Bruce hopes to be back again....

2012 Lunar New Year in Singapore

Bruce spent his second year in Singapore, but he was out visiting Kreta Ayer (Chinatown) for the first time. It was crowded even on a weekday.

Wishing everyone a great year ahead!

Bruce made it last minute to the Sentosa Flower Show.  He felt that this year's event was not as grand as 2011's.
